Look Closely
Public Art
Doyle Street Greenway, Emeryville, CA • 2007
Look Closely is a series of 12 naturalistic, functional sculptures integrated into the landscape along the six block Doyle Street Emeryville Greenway. Rendered in a palette of natural hues, the collection of stone-like sculptures feature imagery of native flora and fauna drawn from the ecosystems of the Greenway. This imagery, etched in granite, is incorporated into the series of smooth, stone-like concrete sculptures amidst plantings. The sculptures provide seating and places of rest and respite. A Community Site Walk and participatory workshops informed the design of the artwork.
