Willowsford Treehouse
Architecture
Loudon County, Virginia, 2018
The Willowsford Treehouse is an eight-sided structure combining platform and partially enclosed cabin, built around a 150 year old white oak tree. Accessible by an ADA compliant ramp that spirals around the platform’s perimeter, the treehouse invites wildlife observation and imaginative play for all. The structure is fully permitted and engineered for intensive public use, constructed of sustainably harvested cedar, and makes minimal impact to the tree and its delicate root structure.
