Cabana Berkely, CA 2001
This urban cabana was created in the tradition of the "casitas" of Puerto Rico, vernacular architecture featuring vibrant colors and simple materials. Incorporating the tropical plants that thrive in the mild Bay Area climate, the cabana spills out into the garden with an outdoor eating space and porch.

The structure was planned with the input of the two girls who will use it, including a small bed with iridescent curtains to create a place for dreaming and playing.
