Edible Schoolyard Photo Archive 1997-2000 This collection of photos documents the evolution of the Edible Schoolyard during a period of three years. The experience of growing, cooking and eating fresh produce has been integrated into the core curriculum at a public middle school; similar programs are being developed throughout the city of Berkeley and the state. Over 900 students at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California participate in the program each year. Founded by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse Restaurant, the program has been hailed as a national educational model.
