Halcyon Bench This piece addresses public seating in a recently-created urban neighborhood park. The bench was commissioned as a memorial to the father of the community member who initiated the park’s construction. Based on the final photograph of the deceased, with his son, (then 1 1/2 years old) the bench was designed to echo a welcoming, embracing gesture. It is made of Alaskan Yellow Cedar from salvaged logs.

Ox Table A riff on the traditional trestle, this table reduced the structure to just three elements, connected with two massive, sliding dovetails. The hand-shaped contours of this bay laurel and tanoak table base were inspired by agricultural yolks, pelvic bone structures, and the posture of working animals.
