Wowhaus Studio Oakland, CA 1998
This small structure is our backyard studio. An homage to the many "utility sheds" that occupy domestic backyards, the building is constructed entirely of salvaged materials utilizing traditional board-and-batten siding. Fold-away desks and a bungee-cord storage system were inspired by boat cabins. The garden surrounding the studio is a respite from the surrounding urban grid, and provides lemons, olives, and grapes.
